Snap gage for comparators or probes

The snap gage range of Metro aims to control accurately cylindrical work parts by giving a measurement not dependant on the operator. Measurement is fast, accurate and realiable.

The snap gage allows to make comparative measurements of various shapes (diameters, shafts, grooves,etc…) thanks to a large range of measurement anvils.

The snap gage can either be fitted with comparators or gauging probes with a standard 8mm diameter.

Can be delivered alone or combined with a probe and a Metro display unit.

SNAP GAUGE WITH METRO DISPLAY

The Metro M2 display unit is particularly adapted to be used with snap gauges. The picture below shows an example of application with 2 heidenhain probes mounted on snap gages. The measurement is clearly shown on the M2 screen and the result also with useful green/red indicator.
The M2 facilitates the operator’s job by switching automaticaly the part reference on the screen by moving the probe tip. When the M2 is configured, the operator has just to place the parts on the snap gauge and that’s all.
This feature increases consequently efficiency on workshops and reduces costs as well as error risks.

2 ranges of snap gauges are available. The first is fitted with fixed anvils. The second can be mounted with interchangeable M2.5 standard tip. This is recommend to use only ball tip with this range.

The Solartron Metrology OD2 Transmitter is designed for use with ac inductive type LVDT displacement transducers.

It has a dual function: (1) its onboard oscillator derives power from the supply and pro- duces a sine wave carrier to drive the transducer primary winding; (2) its amplifier, demodulator and filter circuit conditions the transducer output and a voltage-to-current converter produces this as a dc milliamp drive.

The transmitter is especially suitable where a readout is required at a substantial distance from the transducer and for interfacing with a controller, or computer in auto- mated manufacturing processes.

Solartron_Metrology_OD2

OD2 Transmitter will operate with most Solartron transducers having strokes up to E100 mm (E4 in), in particular with the SM, AC, AX, AT and some of the MACH 1’s. Switches on the printed circuit card are used to set up the transmitter for a specific transducer type and onboard Span/ Zero controls are provided for calibration purposes.
