The Magnescale TS40 tool setter (TS40L2 / TS41L2 / TS42L2) is a high-performance solution for tool length measurement, tool breakage detection, and process control on CNC machining centres.
Designed for vertical machining centres, the TS40 combines non-contact sensing technology, exceptional repeatability, and robust environmental protection to ensure consistent machining accuracy in demanding industrial environments.

How it works
The TS40 uses a magnetic, non-contact sensing system to detect tool position without mechanical wear.
- A reference point signal is triggered when the tool measurement surface is pressed approximately 1 mm
- An overtravel (OT) signal is triggered at around 5 mm, acting as a safety limit to prevent damage
This dual-signal system enables:
- Accurate tool length measurement
- Safe operation with machine protection
Advanced Air Protection System
The TS40 incorporates an integrated air system that:
- Blows air across the measurement surface to remove coolant and chips
- Prevents contaminants entering internal components
- Assists in lifting the measurement surface during operation
Air supply requirements:
- Dry air
- 0.2 to 0.7 MPa
