The Magnescale SR721-SP Series is a modular, high-precision open core scale system designed for demanding industrial applications, including rolling mills, metal processing, and automated machinery. This system combines a non-contact detection head with a rod-type magnetic scale, delivering reliable position feedback even in harsh environments.
At the heart of the SR721-SP system is the HA-721SP reader head, which operates without mechanical restraint, allowing for smooth, frictionless motion detection. It pairs with the MSS-975R or MSS-977R rod scale, available in a wide range of measuring lengths from 150 mm to 750 mm, to suit various installation requirements.

The system supports resolutions of 0.5 µm, 1 µm, 2 µm, 5 µm, and 10 µm, making it highly adaptable to different levels of precision. Its extremely compact design allows for easy integration into tight spaces, and the flexible mounting options mean the rod scale can be installed in any orientation, as long as it remains parallel to the direction of travel.
The SR721-SP Series is fully compatible with Magnescale interpolators such as the MD20B, enabling high-speed signal processing and output to NC units or digital displays. This makes it ideal for applications requiring real-time feedback and fine motion control.
A variety of cable lengths and connector types are available, including Hirose and SUB-D15 options, to ensure seamless integration with existing systems. The system is also designed for custom rack integration, offering flexibility for OEMs and system builders.
